概述：

硬度測(cè)量?jī)xNewton Hardness Tester又名牛頓筆，由德國(guó)Robert Bosch GmbH發(fā)明，設(shè)計(jì)用于精確地測(cè)量和記錄各種硬度（如各種涂層的硬度、塑料、木材或者金屬等材料表面的硬度），測(cè)量表面可為平面或曲面，且不論大小。該儀器攜帶方便，可裝在口袋中，適用于各種場(chǎng)合。

設(shè)計(jì)：

儀器內(nèi)裝一個(gè)可調(diào)壓力的彈簧，壓力由滑桿控制，彈簧作用于一個(gè)碳化鎢測(cè)試頭上面，通過(guò)定位螺絲固定滑桿，以保證恒定的壓力，可選擇四種不同壓力的彈簧0－40N（4000g），對(duì)應(yīng)刻在筆上的刻度，四種壓力量程包括：

0－3N （0－300g）（藍(lán)色）間隔：0.1N（10g）

No.2 0－10N（3－1000g）（黃色）間隔：0.5N（50g）

No.3 0－20N（0－2000g）（紅色）間隔：1N（100g）

No.4 0－40N（0－4000g）（白色）間隔：2N（200g）

每一根與壓力量程對(duì)應(yīng)的彈簧具有與刻度相應(yīng)的顏色代碼

測(cè)試方法：

通過(guò)滑桿可設(shè)置估計(jì)或已知彈簧壓力。將儀器垂直放在測(cè)試表面，以10mm/秒的速度劃一條5－10mm的直線。測(cè)試頭會(huì)產(chǎn)生一條僅肉眼看得見(jiàn)的劃痕。如果彈簧壓力太高，劃痕會(huì)很清晰，如果彈簧壓力太低，將沒(méi)有劃痕出現(xiàn)。通過(guò)鎖定滑桿每次可以控制所需的壓力，單位為牛頓或克（Newtons or g）。

保養(yǎng)事項(xiàng)：

每次使用完應(yīng)注意保持清潔。如需清潔，先松開(kāi)螺母，拆下刻度筆，用軟布清潔測(cè)試頭、筆桿和孔。如長(zhǎng)時(shí)間不用時(shí)可在各部件涂上一層保護(hù)油，放置于隨儀器的盒子內(nèi)，并注意滑桿應(yīng)設(shè)于零位以保護(hù)彈簧的精確度。

PURPOSE AND APPLICATION

This instrument has been designed for the measurement of the hardness of protective coatings. The degree of hardness of paint films, plastic coatings. etc. can be accuray measured and recorded with the Newton Hardness Tester, Model 810. no matter whether on a level or curved surface, small or large.

The instrument is always ready for use. It is carried in the pocket, an asset which will be appreciated by all concerned with hardness tests.

Uniform hardness and quality of the coating facilitate smooth-running manufacture. Deviation from a specified hardness causes rejects, delay in production an complaints. Developed by ERICHSEN, the instrument permits regular quality control of protective coatings, even during processing.

The Newton Hardness Tester provides the engineer, foreman, inspector and others with a test instrument that satisfies the requirements of smooth production runs.

TEST PROCEDURE USING MARKING PINS NOS.1,2 ,3 and 4

The handing of the Newton Hardness Tester, Model 810 is extremely simple. The estimated or known spring tension is set with the help of the slider. Holding the instrument upright and placing its point on the test surface on draws a 5 to 10 mm long line at a rate of approximay 10mm/sec. the stylus should produce a scratch which is just visible with the naked eye. If the spring pressure is too high, the scratch is clearly visible: if too low, no scratch appears. By locking the slider every time one can control the applied pressure which is marked in Newtons.

Four scales are engraved into the pencil for the three pressure ranges:

0-3 N （0－300g）（blue mark） space: 0.1N（10g）

0-10 N（3－1000g）（yellow mark） space: 0.5N（50g）

0-20 N（0－2000g）（red mark） space: 1N（100g）

0-40 N（0－4000g）（white mark） space: 2N（200g）

The spring for each of the pressure ranges are colour coded and the corresponding scale is marked in the same colour

TEST PROCEDURE USING MARKING PIN NO.4

The marking pin in accordance with Opel （0.5 mm dia.） has got a special tip geometry and a length that exceeds that of the other marking pins by approx.. 5 mm. in order to exert the pressure preset by the clamped slider, onto the marking pin the latter must be pressed into the test rod by appprox. 5 mm during the test.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

No further maintenance is required, because of the plastic bearings used for the construction of the instrument. For the purpose of cleaning removes the engraving pencil. Rod and bore are then cleaned with a soft cloth.

Although the Newton Hardness Test, Model 810 is of sturdy construction, the stylus point does not tolerate heavy blows. When not in use, the slider should be set to zero for preserving the accuracy of the springs.
